New Friends is recruiting students and mentors

A New Friends mentor and student meet for an activity in fall 2019.

WAI’s New Friends program is recruiting students and mentors for our 2020-2021 session.

This educational program pairs mentors, people who are living with memory impairment, and UW-Madison students.

The participants will meet virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions. Virtual meetings will be held once a month.

What is New Friends? This unique educational experience provides students with an opportunity to gain insight into living with memory impairment and the roles of family caregivers, encouraging an expanded perspective and sense of empathy. Mentors can share their experiences with students and help guide a future generation of healthcare professionals.
