Members of the Dementia Diagnostic Clinic Network will convene virtually for this year’s annual spring meeting. The Dementia Diagnostic Clinic Network meeting will be held Saturday, May 16, 2020 via WebEx. All network members are welcome to join in!
The meeting’s schedule begins with Clinic Network updates from Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute (WAI) Director Cindy Carlsson, MD, MS. Dr. Carlsson’s introduction and updates will be followed by an overview and analysis of the Clinic Network’s data collection efforts from WAI scientist Maria Mora Pinzon, MD, MS.
Family caregivers who are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias face additional pressures and stresses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Network member will learn strategies and resources available to assist family caregivers in the session “Tips for At Home Caregivers.” The session will be presented by representatives from the Alzheimer’s Association – Wisconsin Chapter and the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin.
Then Sterling Johnson, PhD, Principal Investigator of Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer’s Prevention (WRAP) will provide Network members with an update on the WRAP study and the various research studies being conducted in the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (WADRC). Bonnie Nuttkinson, Outreach Specialist for WAI and Wisconsin ADRC, will discuss how Network members can keep informed about current research studies, as well as the participant referral processes.
