Biography

Professor Department of Psychiatry

Dr. Walaszek is Public Health and Education Leader of the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute. He is associate dean for faculty affairs and development at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and co-leader of the Outreach, Recruitment and Engagement Core at the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.

Research Interests

Dr. Walaszek’s mission is to improve the care of people with Alzheimer’s disease through education of medical students, residents, and clinicians in practice. He has a specific focus on the assessment and management of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia, which can be disabling and dangerous for both patients and their caregivers.
