Jody Krainer is Dementia Clinic Network Manager for the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and practiced for twenty years at a medical and behavioral healthcare system in Waukesha County. She also has advanced business education and experience, and worked as an administrator in a large, diverse community-based nonprofit in the inner city of Milwaukee for six years. Jody joined the WAI in 2016 and serves as the liaison to the statewide WAI-Affiliated Dementia Diagnostic Clinic Network. Her primary role is to increase access to quality dementia diagnostic and treatment services for those experiencing cognitive changes and their support system members.
Clinical Interests
Jody’s clinical interests include:
- Service delivery that is culturally capable, and uses person first language and framework
- Early diagnosis and treatment
- Tailored assistance for support system members, particularly family caregivers
- Efficient, highly functioning interdisciplinary clinical teams that are person-centered focused
- Services for persons living with an intellectual developmental disability
- Non-pharmaceutical treatment; particularly environmental, life style, communication, and behavioral interventions
