Elder abuse, neglect and exploitation are common and have serious consequences. The hospital setting, particularly the Emergency Department, offers an ideal opportunity to identify and intervene. Experts from the Weill Cornell/New York-Presbyterian’s Vulnerable Elder Protection Team (VEPT) will share insight from their multi-disciplinary approach to address elder mistreatment with the intent to increase patient outcomes and safety.
