Each year, the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute Regional Milwaukee Office hosts a community event in the month of April. April is National Minority Health Month, a time to recognize persistent health disparities among racial and ethnic minority populations and the ways in which legislation, policies and programs can advance health equity. Together, we can continue to break the silence in communities of color and help individuals and families get access to the services they need.

In 2024 we are celebrating 10 years of Breaking the Silence events by presenting Mama’s Girls, a play spotlighting family caregivers by the national playwright Garrett Davis. Davis’ plays bring light to health issues and concerns facing communities of color in the hope of raising awareness and creating change. There is no fee, but registration is required.
