Breaking the Silence marks 11-Year anniversary with empowering community event

Thank you!

On behalf of the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute Regional Milwaukee Office, thank you to everyone who attended the 11th Annual Breaking the Silence event.

We were thrilled and grateful to welcome more than 400 attendees to the 11th Annual Breaking the Silence community health event on April 11, 2025. This year’s theme was Know Your Numbers: Centering Black Men’s Health and Wellness. We were honored to welcome keynote speakers Frederick Ketchum, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator at UW School of Medicine and Public Health Department of Neurology; Robert W. Turner II, PhD, Associate Professor at Duke Aging Center and Department of Population Health Sciences; and Antonio Freeman, former NFL Green Bay Packer Wide Receiver.

The event also included a panel discussion featuring Dr. Turner, national playwright Garrett Davis, and family caregiver Jaddia Arnold. To kick off the day,  The Amazing Grace Chorus® performed a medley of inspiring and enthusiastic songs.
