Maria Mora Pinzon, MD, MS, was interviewed on Telemundo Wisconsin in recent news segments. The appearances are part of monthly news interviews Mora Pinzon does with the news station on a variety of public health topics.

Mora Pinzon stated that the cancers that most frequently affect men are prostate, colorectal and lung cancer. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in U.S. men, aside from skin cancer, UW Health reports. It is also the second cause of death from cancer, after lung cancer.

The week March 14 to March 20 is World Salt Awareness Week, an initiative by the World Health Organization (WHO), to warn about the dangers of its excessive use. Mora Pinzon described the risks of excessive salt consumption and how it can affect heart and brain health.

More information about Mora Pinzon and her research and work is on her lab website and the lab’s Facebook page.
