Maria Mora Pinzon, MD, MS, received the William Kane Rising Star Award from the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM) in a virtual ceremony Friday, June 26.
Dr. Mora Pinzon is a scientist with the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute and a primary care research fellow at the UW-Madison Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. Her work examines health equity and its intersection with dissemination and implementation science in Latinx and African American communities, particularly for geriatric topics including falls, management of chronic diseases, and healthcare access for patients living with dementias and their caregivers.
Dr. Mora Pinzon holds leadership positions in the ACPM and is a member of Health Policy PIA of The Alzheimer’s Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment (ISTAART), and a scholar in the 2020 Butler-Williams Scholars Program sponsored by the National Institute on Aging.
