Documentary featuring WRAP participants chosen for Los Angeles film festival

Determined: A battle for the brain that begins with the heart

Determined, an independent documentary about the search for a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, was recently named an official selection and finalist in the 2020 Raw Science Film Festival. Determined follows three participants from the Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer’s Prevention (WRAP) and includes interviews with scientists from UW-Madison Alzheimer’s disease research programs. Therese Barry-Tanner, creator and producer of this film, is a WRAP participant and has been working on the film for nine years.

Due the uncertainty of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the dates for the Los Angeles-based 2020 Raw Science Film Festival are not set yet, but organizers hope to hold the event in late summer or early fall. Stay up-to-date on what’s happening with the film on the Determined website, where you can sign up to receive blog posts and news, or follow the film on Facebook (this can help Therese and her team.)
