Community talks about healthy aging

A virtual and in-person event series bringing local experts and community members together to share information and answer questions about healthy aging topics. 

The WAI Regional Milwaukee Office hosts a series of community talks about healthy aging topics twice each year. Anyone is welcome to join in, drink a coffee, listen in and ask questions. Participation is free, but registration is requested.

    During the summer 2024, the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Institute Regional Milwaukee Office is hosting a series of community workshops. The Breaking the Silence: Addressing Dementia in Communities of Color Community Workshops are no cost and open to the public. Lunch will be provided after presentations. On July 11, speakers from Easterseals Wisconsin will provide information about guardianship, including: what is guardianship and when its needed and how to start the process.

    On August 8, the topic is caregiving. Do you find yourself caregiving. Understand what caregiving is, how family members become caregivers and what do next. The speaker is Kayla Steinke, Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services - Aging Services.
