BackgroundPrior to joining the WAI, Shawn managed the Human Memory Lab in the Department of Psychology at the University of California, Davis. At this lab Shawn coordinated academic studies on the encoding and retrieval processes of human memory, working with both college students and patients with memory impairment. Shawn also managed the Human Perception and Performance Lab at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was responsible for coordinating academic studies that focused on the relationship between the brain and mind in the areas of executive control, visual cognition, cortical plasticity and driver distraction. |
